Following the success of her debut solo album, Behind Closed Doors, Fiona released her second solo album, This Eden, again on her own River Valley Records Label,in September 1994. This Eden consists of nine original songs and Fiona is joined on the album by some of Ireland's finest and most highly regarded musicians.

Since its release, several tracks from This Eden have featured on compilation albums along with artists such as Loreena McKennitt, Mary Black, Maire Brennan, Karen Matheson, Frances Black, Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh and others.

his Eden is Fiona Joyce's second album, and what a beauty it is! Fiona has a melodic, well-trained, clear voice that she uses to express her (sometimes very fragile and emotional) lyrics. Nine fantastic songs, each one submerged in a soft, moody Celtic atmosphere, with psychedelic, fairy-tale-like overtones. Fiona's music is not straight Folk, but a progressive variant, in which floating key-boards and distorted electric guitars form mind-lifting arrangements. All nine of them radiate the same dreamy, aesthetic beauty that turns this CD into a classic. An essential item for anyone who is into European progressive Folk."
       - Crohinga Well (Belgium)

"By any standards Fiona Joyce is an extraordinary woman. Joyce's voice expresses a greater emotional depth than her numerous Irish sisters seem prepared to deliver, while her combination of singer, guitarist and songwriter in one body puts her in the premiership of Irish writer-performers, irrespective of gender. An admirable addition to the ever-growing catalogue of impressive Irish albums produced without Major label involvement and probably sounds all the better for it."
       - Jackie Hayden (Hot Press, Ireland)

"Fiona's wonderful voice claims a predominant role in the nine tracks that make up This Eden... the second record of this Irish songwriter, who has become almost a cult among the circles of genuine Folk music. Always balanced between modern rhythms and ancestral memories ...Spotlights her among the most valued talents of Folk song writing."
       - Rockerilla (Italy)

"A compelling, personal and tune-laden album. She manages to bring intensity, confidence and coherence to her performance that several of her contemporaries might envy...Both of her essential CDs are bench-mark stuff. The kind by which all other Folk records are judged"
       - Folk On Tap (UK)

"This Eden concentrates on original songs, delivered with assuredness and confidence. Mature and accomplished, This Eden reveals a powerfully astute and concise writing talent at work...Shows the signs of genius."
       - Rock 'N' Reel (UK)

"When I reviewed the CD release of Fiona Joyce's debut album, I bravely announced that in my opinion Behind Closed Doors was the finest contemporary Electric-Folk album to have been released in the past 12 months. Nothing much happened to change my opinion since then, although her new album, This Eden, comes close to knocking her off her own pedestal. Fiona Joyce has a rich, clear and melodious voice, which is ideally suited to the self-penned material she excels in. She could quite easily be a major force on the contemporary Folk scene."
       - Ptoleinaic Terrascope (UK)

"If Behind Closed Doors is her calling-card, then This Eden makes it quite clear that she has arrived. Ms. Joyce has a voice like velvet and her lyrics are intensely personal. She has created a classic slice of progressive Folk music ...another gem of an album. Highly recommended."
